TIME TO TELL HER STORY
Dolores Huerta changed the course of American history — and yet her true story has never been told.
One of our greatest labor and civil rights leaders, Dolores co-founded the Farm Workers Union to fight brutal, near-slave conditions in the fields. She took on the all-powerful agribusiness and, in a true David-and-Goliath struggle, helped lead a strike that would become one of the most dramatic labor struggles in U.S. history.
She was the brilliant strategist behind a nationwide boycott that moved 17 million people to stop eating grapes, crippling an empire and forcing the mighty growers to their knees and to her negotiating table. She banned dangerous pesticides, passed landmark laws protecting the poor, stood beside Robert F. Kennedy moments before his assassination, and was once beaten by police so savagely she was pronounced dead.
And she did all of this as the mother of 13 children.
The film is a sweeping, emotionally charged epic about the hidden cost of changing history — the sacrifices, betrayals, endurance, and moral courage it demanded. It is the untold story of a woman who faced overwhelming violence, deep sexism, and impossible choices, and yet never lost faith in the power of ordinary people to rise and change the world.
As Dolores says: “Sí, se puede. Yes, we can.”
